Measuring Instructions for Apparel

Take your measBodyurements and compare them to the sizing charts below to figure out your correct size.

  • Sleeve: With elbow slightly bent, measure from the center of neck (backside), over point of shoulder, around elbow and down to the wrist.
  • Chest: Holding the tape firm and level, measure around the fullest part of the chest, just under the arms and around the shoulder blades.
  • Waist: With tape loose but level, measure at the height you prefer to wear your waistband.
  • Inseam: Using a pair of pants that fit you well, measure from the crotch to the bottom of the leg. For shorts, measure from the crotch to where the shorts will end.
  • Outseam: Measure from top of waistband to the bottom of the cuff.

If you're unsure about your size, use your measurements and compare them to the charts below to determine correct fit. These charts will give you a good idea of the size to order, but be sure to read special sizing information that may accompany an item description. Some merchandise dimensions may vary from the averages charted here.

How Football Shoe Sizing Works

Length: Soccer shoes are sized like regular shoes, however with a soccer shoe a tighter fit is generally recommended so your standard shoe size may not transfer directly to our boots. Soccer boots are generally constructed of soft and supple, thin leathers and to ensure proper ball feel a tighter fit is optimal. Soccer shoes are designed with a more narrow upper, which allows for better feel and control of the ball. Your FootballCity soccer boot should fit as close to the end of your foot as possible without touching your toes for performance and comfort. A 0.5 to 1cm inch gap is ideal. As a basic rule of thumb, every 1/2 size will yield about 4mm of length.

Width: Width is also important. Your soccer shoes should fit the foot snugly and your foot should not slide around inside the shoe during play. It is also good to note that many soccer shoes are only available in one width. You may have to experiment with several different shoes until you find one that fits the best.

Material:
Material of the shoe can also affect fit. The top-of-the line leathers, especially kangaroo leathers, will generally stretch after a few uses. High-quality shoes will actually mold to the shape of your foot therefore you will want these to fit snugly in width when they are new, out of the box.

Proper Fit:
When you receive your new soccer boots, try them on indoors to check for correct fit. Your shoes should fit snugly without discomfort or pressure points. Your toes should reach all the way to the front of the shoe, but should not touch against the end. Again. Look for a gap or 0.5 to 1cm. If a player is still growing, we recommend buying soccer shoes a little large and filling in the excess space by wearing an additional pair of socks.

Goalkeeper Gloves

Measure the circumference of the part of your palm just below the knuckles, excluding your thumb (see image). Round up to the next whole inch, then add 1 to the measurement to determine your Keeper glove size.

ie. 7.5" -> 8" + 1 = 9. Thus, 9 would be the Keeper glove size.

Measure both hands, and order the bigger size if they are different. Remember: Goalkeeping gloves should be worn big, generally 1/2" to 1" over the end of your fingertips.
